#36alive 337: Indoor Plants

There are a number of benefits of having plants indoors with a lot of research going in to the subject.

These benefits are as follows:

  1. Plants can trap toxins in their own tissue or break them down, releasing them as harmless by-products purifying the air.
  2. They can lower your risk of illness helping with things such as itchy eyes, runny noses, dry throats, and fatigue.
  3. They have also shown to reduce stress and anxiety levels, acting as a mood enhancer. After all, who doesn’t feel good when someone buys them a bunch of flowers.
  4. Plants can also help people to think clearly, improving the accuracy of work and productivity. Next time you’re struggling with some work just look at a plant and watch yourself go.

Some studies have actually shown that just looking at a photo of nature can help with some of the above.

So, with all this in mind, the above was a really convoluted way of saying “put your Christmas tree up”!
