#36alive 279: Become Time Efficient With a Pie Chart

How many times have you heard, or even said yourself, “there’s just not enough time in the day”, I’m guessing quite a lot. People often ask themselves where all the times has gone at the end of the day/week/month or year, but if you break it down, there are 24 hours in a day, that is a lot of hours and enough to be able to get stuff done.
One way I heard to make the most of the time that I think is a really good idea is to make a pie chart for your day. This doesn’t have to be done every day and does not have to be detailed but allocating time to different aspects may make you realise that there is more that can be fitted in to the day than expected.
When drawing the time chart it is probably best for most people to start with sleep and work. For example, if we say 8 hours sleep, and 10 at work including time commuting, that leaves 6 hours to do with what we want. Now if you want to allocate three hours of time to yourself to do whatever you want, whether it be exercise, watching TV, reading or something else, that still leaves 3 hours. Maybe allocating 1.5 hours for making and eating meals throughout the day, that’s still 1.5 hours left over.
Obviously this can be tweaked to cater your own needs, especially if you have a family but doing this should enable you to at least allocate yourself 1 hour to yourself to do with what you want, and after all, a bit time to the self is extremely important for a number of reasons.
Give it a try and see if it seems like you have more time in the day now you have it planned out.

Pictured is a very bland and dull version but sometimes bland and dull is nice alright. #timemanagement #efficient #productive #time #getshitdone #pie #piechart #eatsleepraverepeat
