#36alive 250: Take A Sharp Intake Of Breath For Stress Relief

We mentioned Dr David Hamilton on Sunday, David wrote a book about kindness and how it can reduce stress and anxiety, and has loads of tips on how to do this. One little tip is a simple breathing technique that physically shifts the focus to the front of the brain which puts us in a more relaxed state.

The simple technique is as follows:

Take a deep breath, stop it, then take a short sharp intake of breath, before taking a few deep breaths really focusing on them.

Try this when you’re feeling stressed or anxious and see how you feel.
