#36alive 217: Move Your Spine | Part 1

You’re only as old as your spine so they say. Whoever they are. I have actually heard Ido Portal say it so that’s good enough for me. Recently when I had a slight lower back issue that was also causing pain in my hamstrings, my osteopath who is also a Foundation Trainer and Functional Movement Specialist prescribed this little exercise for me. It might not seem much but it sorted me right out. I do it a few times a day now, along with other things to supplement my daily CARs as prevention rather than cure. Prefab over rehab!

How to:

Making sure you keep your upper spine, shoulders and chest still and facing straight forward, twist your lower spine from side to side. Do it on the bus, on a train, at the gym or while in a queue instead of reaching for that smart phone. Give it a go and make sure your spine, is fine! (Yes I am happy with that rhyme 😜).
