#36alive 169: Try Hula Hooping

Whilst we’re passionate about the fact that there’s way more to life than the way you look, today’s post doesn’t hurt when it comes to moving closer towards obtaining a Summer ‘beach body’… if you’re bothered about that.

Hula hooping might seem like a childs’ game or something circus performers take part in, BUT Beyonce, Kelly Osbourne, Zooey Deschanel, Michelle Obama, Liv Tyler and even Jason Mraz areall big fans of the waist-whittling exercise. The practice is also incredibly soothing, therapeutic and meditative (once you’ve got the hang of it, of course!)

As we make our way into Summer, there’s (hopefully) plenty of opportunity to get outside in the sunshine and fresh air, find a space, and practice hula hooping. After a little practice, you’ll be able to ‘hoop whilst talking, reading, texting, and even jogging, and the best part is that this exercise is FUN. If you know any couch potatoes who need to get moving, offer them a hula hooping lesson and they’ll be amazed at how easy and enjoyable this effective exercise is!
