#36alive 84: Hangover Headache Cure

Today I share with you a tip that I have absolutely no scientific evidence behind and have done absolutely no research in apart from trying myself and finding that it works. What I’m about to share with you came from a Kinesiologist I was once talking to whilst slightly hungover who gave me a bit of advice on how to remove a ‘toxic’ headache. By toxic she meant any headache that I may have caused myself by putting toxins in my body such as alcohol.

Now I’m sure I have your attention but before I share the bit of advice let explain what Kinesiology is. Taken direct from Wikipedia – “Kinesiology is the scientific study of human or non-human body movement. Kinesiology addresses physiological, biomechanical, and psychological mechanisms of movement”.

This means that the way we move, our environment, the things we put in the body, and the way we think are all taken in to consideration when treating any issues that may arise, with a lot of the theory based on ancient Chinese Medicine (I realise that this is a very broad explanation of Kinesiology so if any Kinesiologists are reading this and feel the need to correct or add to it then please leave a comment).

Some of the most impressive people I have met with regards to diagnosing and treating issues are trained Kinesiologists amongst other things and I don’t think that this is any coincidence so I tend to listen when they tell me things.

“So how do I get rid of this stinking headache I’ve got because of too much wine last night?” I hear you scream. Follow the steps below and see for yourselves if it works.

  • Stand up with your arms hanging straight by your sides
  • Bring your arms in close so they are touching your body, your hands should be touching a point on the outside of your legs between your hips and knees
  • Wherever your middle finger is on your leg, massage in to that point for a minute or two
